The cyclical enneagram – review
In each of our cyclical enneagram analyses, we have followed the same method:
-
identify the point which represents the beginning and end of each cycle
-
identify the ‘outbound’ energy, the ‘homebound’ energy, and the point of no return
-
identify the various intermediate stages in the cycle.
The analysis then reveals some or all of the following:
-
the contrast between the outbound and the homebound phases of the cycle
-
the ‘high energy’ nature of passing the point of no return
-
alternative moves in the cycle – for better or for worse – along the nine internal arrows
-
and finally a correspondence with the strategy board – whenever the cycle is defined by human choices and therefore by head and heart and gut.
The enneagram has proved to be a powerful tool for examining the properties of various systems. The strategy board itself is just one extended example of an enneagram analysis – making full use of the great potential of this powerful logical analytical tool.
